Thinking about bricks and places of prayer I was reminded of this lovely bluestone tower that is the remains of St Patrick’s College in East Melbourne. The school was run by the Jesuits from 1854-1968.
Most of the College was demolished in the 1970s to make way for the Yuncken Freeman designed St Patricks Presbytery.

Many attempts were made to stop the closure and demolition of the college. The National Trust was only able to save this bluestone tower.
And what a pretty picture it makes against the cathedral.
