Grains for the Dead

I never tire of the Asian section of the National Gallery of Victoria.

And I particularly like this little grain storage earthenware model.

Although when I took the photo, I was so caught up in seeing the delicate glazing that I seem to have zoomed in a little too tight and missed the small bears holding it up and the birds atop the roof.

If the spirit of the ancestor is happy and peaceful then they will look after the living. So best to feed them lots of grain.
